The Special Olympics - In God's Image

DeShawn volunteers on a regular basis with Special Olympics. The blog below is a reflection on a recent volunteer experience.

O, what another great blessing to be awake to see all of God's creation. Today has been a great day, and tommorrow will be an even greater day. I'm working with Special Olympics. It is a blessing to see what God has created and to cherish it and love it. I see these kids from all over the state and how people judge them or better yet, tell them what they are and are not capable of, but in reality they are probably more capable of doing things than we "normys" are capable of. They just have a different way of doing it. I have learned that in God's eyes He sees us all the same. God loves no matter what, and we should as well. I'm so fortunate in so many ways, but it brings me back to Genesis where we find that we were all created in Gods image! What a great god we have.
