Citizenship

The week of September 15-19, SMC celebrated Constitution Week. Students in the Leadership 101 class were asked to describe in their own words what it means to be a good citizen. Eden's response to this question is below.

First and foremost, I think a good citizen is someone who truly cares about his or her community and surroudings. True citizenship means you're glad to be a citizen of that community. Citizenship is being an example of how to run your community and how to treat everything your community entails. Citizenship is a key role in being a leader. If citizens see a leader treating the community right then perhaps they will as well.
